Bok Kia: Jay Mee

If you love sweets in Bangkok, you’re in luck with many tasty Thai desserts waiting to delight you.

Some of the best traditional dessert vendors are tucked away in small alleys, just waiting to be found.

Bok Kia: Jay Mee

Near Khao San Road, you can find Chinese Shaved Ice, a traditional Thai-Chinese dessert called Bok Kia.

Originally, she sold it with her sister ‘Jay Gun,’ but after her sister passed away in a car accident, she continues to sell it alone.

It’s located in a quiet alley near Chao Pho Nu Shrine, known mostly by locals rather than tourists staying at nearby hotels.

Their shaved ice is refreshing and great for cooling off after walking around Bangkok on a hot day.
