What to Expect
Enjoy a peaceful 10 km, 1.5-hour ride through the green pockets and hidden temples of Bangkok’s western outskirts. This route weaves along quiet roads and canals, visiting old neighborhood temples and ending at one of the city’s most beloved floating markets.
This SOKSOI (ซอกซอย) bike tour is ideal for riders seeking a more relaxed experience—full of greenery, community spirit, and lesser-known sacred spaces that feel untouched by time.
Start your journey at Taling Chan Floating Market, a calm canal-side hub where locals come for weekend food and flowers. Pedal a short stretch to Wat Chang Lek, a small but active temple that sets the tone for the ride ahead.
Continue to Wat Reyrai, a small temple quietly tucked behind neighborhood homes, offering a glimpse into everyday local life.
Then ride onward to Wat Monthop, known for its peaceful courtyard, shady trees, and a calm, meditative atmosphere—perfect for a brief pause.
From there, follow a green, tree-lined pathway through quiet residential alleys to reach Wat Samon Kot, and then Wat Thong Chim Phli, where old prayer halls and timeless architecture invite you to slow down and take it all in.
The ride flows gently onward to Wat Krachang, a humble local temple surrounded by wooden houses.
Only with a local guide, ride toward Wat Makok*, where you’ll pass garden plots and a hidden green lung before reaching the temple, quietly tucked away in a peaceful corner. (*It’s a complicated route.)
But if you’re riding on your own, continue straight to Wat Champa, which sits peacefully along the canal with traditional architecture and quiet charm.
On the way along Khlong Wat Pho, you’ll pass Wat Pho Taling Chan, a small community temple that blends quietly into its canal-side surroundings.
Cycle along Khlong Bang Ramat, following a narrow concrete path beside the water—ride with care, as there’s no railing and one wrong turn could land you in the canal!
Keep an eye out for monitor lizards hunting along the banks, locals quietly fishing, and birds—like egrets and kingfishers—fluttering and singing as you ride by.
Ride until you reach Kanchanaphisek Road—then follow it briefly before turning left onto Bang Ramat Road. Soon, you’ll arrive at Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, a lively weekend spot filled with food, crafts, and local charm. It’s the perfect place to end your ride and recharge.
