Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand’s dynamic capital, is a city of contrasts—where glittering temples stand side by side with towering skyscrapers, and tradition blends seamlessly with modern life.

It’s fast, dense, and constantly in motion. From the historic grounds of the Grand Palace to busy streets filled with food vendors, markets, and motorbikes, the city pulses with energy at every hour of the day.

But beyond the main roads, Bangkok reveals a quieter side—hidden alleys, canals, and local neighborhoods that offer a more intimate glimpse into everyday life, often missed at first glance.

Bicycle Community

Bangkok might not be the first city that comes to mind when you think about cycling. The traffic, the heat, the chaos—it doesn’t exactly scream “bike-friendly.”

But look a little closer, turn into a few SOKSOI (small alleys), and you’ll find something different.

There’s a growing bicycle community here. Quietly strong. Surprisingly diverse.

From early morning coffee rides to late-night fixed gear meetups, from serious training groups to casual explorers—Bangkok’s cycling scene isn’t one thing.

It’s many.

Cycling Styles

Some ride for speed.
Some ride for coffee.
Some ride for beer.
Some ride to get lost.
Some ride to find people.

In Bangkok, cycling groups often form around lifestyle, not just the bike itself.

  • Road cyclists chasing performance and distance
  • Fixed gear riders owning the streets at night
  • Gravel and adventure riders exploring the edges of the city
  • Casual groups riding slow, stopping often, enjoying the journey

There’s no single “right way” to ride here—and that’s what makes it interesting.

Top Bicycle Groups

Café Velodome

One of the most beginner-friendly entry points into Bangkok’s cycling world.

Café Velodome is known for its urban rides, often happening on Saturdays and open to anyone who wants to join. The ride usually starts right at the café—conveniently located near the Khaosan area, with a gelato shop adding to the relaxed, social vibe.

Most riders here use folding bikes, making it approachable and less intimidating for newcomers. It’s not about speed—it’s about getting comfortable riding in the city, together.

Pai Pun Gun x Ta-Q Club

If you want to understand small alley riding at its most intense, this is it.

Pai Pun Gun x Ta-Q Club is known for diving deep into Bangkok’s smallest alleys—tight, narrow paths where navigation and control really matter. This isn’t a beginner ride. It’s built for experienced riders who are confident handling speed in unpredictable urban environments.

The pace can be fast, even inside small alleys, which adds to the thrill—but also demands focus and skill.

Most riders use MTB, often full-suspension bikes, ready for uneven surfaces, sudden turns, and whatever the city throws at them. The goal is simple: explore hard-to-reach places and end the ride with seriously good food.

It’s technical. Fast. And very Bangkok.

Panjit Cycling Club

A newer group with a very different energy.

Panjit rides are less structured and more spontaneous. There’s no fixed schedule—it depends on the mood. If the group feels like riding, they ride.

The concept is simple: cycle through the city, stop for beer, then continue… and repeat. It’s social, playful, and very Bangkok.

Most riders use classic 26” MTBs, keeping things practical for city streets. Expect a younger crowd, lots of laughter, and a ride that feels more like a moving hangout than a workout.

SOKSOI : Sunday Ride

This is our rhythm.

SOKSOI Sunday rides focus on small alleys, local neighborhoods, and the everyday life of Bangkok. We ride slow, stop often, and intentionally support local businesses along the way—from street food stalls to small slowbar coffee shops.

It’s not about distance or speed. It’s about connection.

With the city. With the people. And with the places you’d normally miss.

Final note

Each group shows a different side of Bangkok.

Same city. Different routes. Different reasons to ride.

And that’s what makes the bicycle community here so unique.
